Cos'è Startup Day
Basilicata, like many inland Italian areas, risks losing over 80% of its residents by 2043, according to the most recent ISTAT projections.
But depopulation is not a foregone conclusion: Startup Day was created to show how those who live here can fight back by building businesses that address real needs and revitalize the local economy.
The Startup Day event follows the National Strategy for Inland Areas. It showcases solutions ranging from agricultural robots designed to bridge the labor gap in vineyards, to renewable energy, to AI-powered early diagnostic services that reduce screening times and costs, all the way to Alamastr, which transforms traditional craftsmanship into a bespoke, sustainable product capable of reaching global niche markets from a local base.
Schedule for the day:
✔️ 3:30 PM – Opening and tasting at the startup stands
✔️ 4:00 PM – Talk by the startup Germen
✔️ 5:00 PM – Live podcast with winemakers on the challenges of labor, costs and climate
✔️ 6:00 PM – Robofield: robotics in viticulture with TED, Bakus, Thorvald and AgBot W3
